Greetings Beloved!
Blessings to you through God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. May the Holy Spirit, who reveals all mysteries pertaining to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, bless you with spiritual discernment and wisdom. Amen.
We, the Christian people in today’s America, are an endangered species. We still find churches in every city, village and countryside, but how many of these churches are walking in the light and grace of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ? How many of these churches are preaching the message of the cross unto calling forth repentant life, love and righteousness in every person of our great nation?
Beloved, I do not speak to anyone’s judgment or shame, rather I am simply looking at a tree with shining, red fruit and calling it an apple tree. There are still authentic, Christ-filled churches and believers in our nation, but the numbers are declining, not increasing. Instead being fed a pure and undefiled Gospel, we are fed a smorgasbord of illegitimate causes and justices, resulting in the pious pursuit of a bastard gospel.
In 2 Corinthians chapter eleven, the apostle Paul writes,
“Oh, that you would bear with me a little folly- and indeed you do bear with me. For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I might present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” ( 11:1-3 NKJV)
I believe we find a definite similarity between the western church today and that of Corinth at the time Paul wrote this letter approximately 55 a.d. Most have forgotten the simple and chaste devotion to Christ by turning to other gospels. Now, I do not questions anyone’s devotion or piety, for I fear that I could not stand before God holding such a judgment, but I do question the gospel or cause to which you are devoted. We have in our diluted western culture a great many distractions within the Church. I have seen friends and fellow believers give their lives to these delusions and it is stealing their devotion to God and their once fervent desire to see the fulfilling of the Great Commission. How we have fallen! We need to get our devotional lives in tune with the heart of Christ and return to a lifestyle of fasting, prayer and proclaiming the Kingdom of God.
Furthermore, we play ‘church’ while Satan is pulling the rug out from under us. For the most part this is because we haven’t been faithful in sharing the Gospel or in the command to obey and pray for our governing authorities. Sure, we obey our government in areas we shouldn’t, such as not speaking out politically so that we don’t lose our 501(c)(3), but we disobey our republic by not voting based on our beliefs and morals and also by not obeying simple laws such as the speed limit. God is giving the Church what she wants, which is a post-Christian America.
If you don’t believe me, take note that we are in another election year in Hawaii. We have a great opportunity and an amazing window of mercy available to the Church. A possibly unprecedented number of Christian, pro-life candidates are running for office this year. If they are elected, there is great potential to see a political reform in Hawaii that will grant mercy to the unborn and create a platform for authentic justice that hasn’t been seen in my generation. In a state with such a small voter percentage, the Church has a great opportunity to make a lasting impact on these elections. What we need are pastors and leaders not afraid to lose their 501(c)(3)’s, who will endorse these candidates and call their congregations to vote.
If we neglect this Scriptural mandate from God, Christ will come first as judge of His people and give us our desires, which in this case, would be to our shame. If we see another anti-Christ, liberal majority, there will be an onslaught of pro-death, anti-christian legislation rammed into law. It is coming and we must wake up and heed the call to justice. “He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8 NKJV)
If we do not return to the simplicity of the Gospel, returning to prayer, fasting, charity and forgiveness… all these in tune with the justice and righteousness of God’s kingdom, then our church pews will soon become a first-class ticket into the depths of hell. Beloved, I urge you, quit playing games with the grace of God! In light of His mercies, let us return to the Gospel that saves our soul from the pit of death, which is the Gospel of the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ! Let us worship and adore this One, even proclaiming Him from the poorest of our people to the most influential. Let us seek first His kingdom and His righteousness!
There is not much left of a Christian America or a Christian Hawaii, but God is able to give us power again and heal our land. Pray that the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ would run powerfully and effectively in these islands.
His grace is sufficient for you to walk in the will of God. May He comfort your hearts and guide you in paths of righteousness. Amen.
