Blessed is He Who is Not Offended

Blessed is He Who is Not Offended
(Jerry Marek 08/04/10)

My heart is yearning for verse and line,
to express these moments and recent times
O, find me words of wisdom’s light,
convey these truths that seldom find
And bless me, Spirit of God, my Christ,
I long to tell of Your great might!

I’ve wandered through melancholy, maze and shadow,
hand and step through darkened night
Gripping fervently to truth’s reward,
accused and named a hateful delusion
Though walking, stumbling, through narrow path,
my blessings are found amidst the slanders.

Blessed is he who is not offended.

What weight of cross will we grip to bear,
yet follow the lamb wherever He goes?
What length of cursing may reach our ears,
and still we bless our enemies?
An authentic Gospel will cost us friends…

Blessed is he who is not offended.

Behold, the joy of faithfulness,
to be counted worthy of such a test!
Strengthen me in Your prevailing grace,
O Lord of Hosts, my King and glory!
